Table of galaxies

I wonder if all galaxies have a certain stable mass size that they can all be classified into.  If so galaxies could be classified by mass, similar to the periodic table.  Once classified the behaviour of the various types of galaxies could be investigated to make future predictions.  For example, some galaxy masses may be more likely to clump together into clusters.
